**APS** provides complete crushing solutions for customers in limestone and granite quarries, sand and gravel pits and recycling sites. Our crushing operations are organized to process a comprehensive range of both wet and dry finished products with mínimal changeover.

We are seeking **Full-time **Seasonal **Heavy Equipment Operator**, with a strong work ethic, ability to work independently under mínimal supervision and safety focused mindset.

Reporting to our **Plant Foreman** your job duties will include;
**Job Duties**
- Performing work instructions from the Foreman or Site Supervisor.
- Operating heavy construction equipment to move, load or unload materials.
- Checking heavy equipment using approved circle check procedures before operating to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
- Communicating any unsafe conditions or accidents/injuries in a timely manner to the supervisor in order to facilitate prompt correction or reporting.
- Operate within the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Work in a team environment with other co-workers, supervisors, and managers.
- Complete cleanup assignments using shovels and/or small, heavy equipment.
- Assist in maintenance inspections and activities using appropriate procedures.
- Operate crushing and screening plant as trained and directed.
- Report any malfunctions or safety risks to supervisor immediately.
- Specific job duties will often vary from day to day depending on business needs.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Requirements**:

- Education: High School diploma/GED, preferred, not required.
- Experience working at sand & gravel plant preferred, not required.
- Mining experience/background preferred, not required.
- Basic mechanical skills. Welding/cutting experience preferred. Mobile Equipment operation preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Experience with equipment operation and maintenance.
- Ability to work in confined spaces.

**Work Conditions**
- Some exposure to water, chemicals, hazardous materials, and noise.
- Heavy lifting / moving, walking, standing, and climbing will be required routinely.
- May be required to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in inclement weather conditions.
- Work outdoors. May encounter various elemental conditions, e.g. rain, snow, heat, cold, etc.
- Required to wear personal protective equipment, e.g. Safety boots, etc.
- Manual dexterity required to operate field equipment, tools, and computer peripherals.
- May be required to perform repetitive heavy lifting up to 50 pounds.
