Cafe Manager

**The Bike & Bean is looking for a Café Manager**

Our café and bike shop is located in the historic French Village Train Station. Built in the early 1900’s, this station has long been an integral part of welcoming people to the Tantallon area. Although the last passenger train stopped running in 1969, The Bike & Bean continues to be a stopping place for visitors and trail enthusiasts as well as a gathering place for the community.

The cafe manager is responsible for maintaining a vibrant and welcoming environment for our customers as well as a positive work environment for our staff. We are looking for a creative and innovative person who is passionate about improving what we do and how we do it.

The manager is also **responsible** for organizing daily operations of the café which include:

- Hiring and onboarding new staff.
- Preparing weekly schedules for baristas and finding replacement for staff absences.
- Training new employees in multiple areas such as coffee equipment, drink and food preparation, POS system, café cleanliness and the daily routines of the café.
- Coordinating with vendors, monitoring inventory and ordering supplies based on stock quotas.
- Reviewing menu items and adjusting based on seasonality and customer preferences.
- Leading café staff to successful customer service.

**Requirements**:

- Work experience as a café manager or Barista
- Experience in the hospitality industry
- The ability to work independently
- Availability to work within opening hours (weekdays, weekends, and holidays)
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to manager and motivate others
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Experience with social media/marketing would be an asset
