- Consult with family of deceased regarding funeral and related services
- Inform survivors of benefits
- Schedule work of other staff
- Issue death notices to newspapers
- Maintain and order supplies
- Co-ordinate burials and cremations
- Complete legal documentation
- Pre-arrange funerals
- Arrange for transfer of remains from place of death to funeral home
- Work with mínimal supervision
