Working under the direction of the Manager, Procurement & Logistics, the primary role of this position is receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling internal orders from stock, packing and shipping supplies, and managing, organizing and retrieving stock in the warehouse. The warehouse worker is also responsible for the maintenance of the shelter’s storeroom which includes but is not limited to, stocking of materials and supplies, inventory control and records, and related duties as required.

**Main Duties/Responsibilities**
- Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, price)
- Receive and process warehouse stock products (pick, unload, label, store)
- Perform inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audits
- Inspect deliveries for damage or discrepancies and report any discrepancies to Procurement specialist for reimbursements and record keeping
- Prepare the pickings and distribution of daily orders around shelter, clinic, and of external orders
- Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and work stations neat, optimize space utilization, and organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times
- Complete diary logs into inventory
- Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers
- Operate and maintain preventively warehouse vehicles and equipment
- Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to organizational standards
- Wear the proper safety equipment
- Be aware of and work within the regulations of all THS policies and protocols
- Work in compliance with the provisions of the OHSA and its regulations including understanding and adhering to the requirements of the Health and Safety Manual and any other rules and regulations established by THS
- Work cooperatively with all volunteers and recognize the talent and commitment they bring to the Society
- Other duties as required in the day-to-day operation of the society

**Qualifications/Requirements**
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of experience in storekeeping, inventory control, warehousing, or recordkeeping
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to acquire and maintain forklift certification
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to safely and legally operate a forklift
- Strong organization, time management, and analytic skills
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner
- Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness

**Work Conditions**
- Flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Occasional overtime
- Operation of forklift and maintenance equipment
- Regularly required to lift, carry, push, and/or pull of moderately heavy objects and materials (20 - 50 pounds) and some combination of climbing and balancing to include stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
- Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, odours, noise extremes, hazardous materials, bright/dim lights, toxic agents, animal attacks, animal bites, disease, pathogenic substances, or rude/irate customers

**Salary**: $16.32 per hour
