Our mandate is to improve the socio-economic conditions of off-reserve status and non-status Indians, Métis and Southern Inuit living in urban or rural areas. CAP holds meetings with members of the government to find practical ways to improve federal programs, policies and services for off-reserve Indigenous Peoples.

**Summary**

Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Social Media Manager will be responsible for the development and implementation of CAP’s social media content and strategy. This will be done in collaboration with relevant members while managing CAP’s day-to-day social media operations.

**What You'll Do**
- Manage all of CAP’s social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.)
- Work within the Communications department to ensure overall look of all social media properties is consistent and up to date
- Follow current social media trends and explore other platforms to invest in
- Develop and implement social media campaigns
- Track performance over time relative to organization-wide goals for brand development
- Provide editorial support (editing and proofreading) of internal and external communications
- Liaison with public, media, stakeholders, etc. to increase awareness
- Collaborate with management, staff, consultants, and stakeholders to achieve organizational objectives
- Coordinate and facilitate media inquiries, interviews and earned media initiatives.

**You'll Need To Have**
- Graduate degree or an advanced degree in a related field (journalism, communication, public relations, marketing, etc.)
- Must have at least three to five years of experience in a social media management role
- Track record of growing social engagement around an organization
- Must have an understanding of policy issues for off-reserve Indigenous peoples living in urban, rural, remote and isolated areas throughout Canada
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Exceptional writing and editing skills in English. French is an asset.
- Highly organized, strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Experience with WordPress and Adobe Photoshop is a must
- Experience managing social media accounts

**Our Working Conditions**
- Hybrid working would normally be performed from the CAP National Office based in Ottawa. Employees may be required to work from home or take other measures deemed necessary to reduce the risk of COVID-19 during the pandemic
- Remote working arrangements are permitted for employees residing outside of the Ottawa region
- Occasional weekend and evening work
- Salary commensurate with experience
