**ABOUT THE ROLE**
Under the direct supervision of the Manager - Mikinaak Gagiigidowin - Indigenous Cultural Safety & Education, Indigenous Health, N’doo’owe Binesi, the Indigenous Cultural Safety & Resolution Specialist is responsible for providing culturally safe and trauma-informed support and right-based supports to Indigenous clients/residents, family members, and staff who have experienced racism, discrimination, or culturally unsafe care.
The Resolution Specialist ensures that Indigenous voices, experiences, worldviews, and rights are centred throughout all stages of the concerns, complaints and incident resolution process, from initial intake, assessment through to facilitated resolution, documentation, follow-up, and organizational learning. The role also identifies patterns, systemic barriers, and process gaps that contribute to inequity; providing recommendations for organizational improvement; and supporting the implementation of new structures, practices, and accountability mechanisms that advance cultural safety and anti-racism across St. Joseph’s Care Group (SJCG).
