We are currently a enthusiastic individuals to join our team for 8 - 15 weeks in the role of Early Childhood Educator Assistant as part of the Canada summer job grant program. **_**Kids U has won the Gold Winner status for the Calgary Herald/Sun Readers choice awards Best Daycare & Best Preschool 2021 **_** **Tasks and Responsibilities**: - Support early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children - Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits - Work with children in the classroom to promote their learning and development - Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts - Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods - May co-ordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants. - Submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors - Maintain daycare equipment and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties - Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children - May assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records. - Assist in developing lesson plans based on provincial requirements and the specific needs of each child - Collaborate with teachers to monitor the development of each child - Understand the teacher’s routine when it comes to delivering a lesson plan and running the class in the event that the teacher is absent on a particular day - Ability to lift a min. of 40 lbs especially when working with infants and toddlers The successful role holder will need to have a positive attitude, quick thinking, problem solving and customer service skills and the ability to fulfill competing priorities. - Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment - Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person on whom refugee protections has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act - And legally entitled to work according to relevant provincial legislation and regulations (international students on a work/study permit are not eligible for the Canada Summer Jobs Program) **Time spent working together** This Position is 35 Hours per Week, Monday-Friday The Position will start in June 2021 for 8 - 15 weeks.
