**Summary**
As the Director of People & Culture at the YMCA, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our organizational culture and enhancing employee engagement. This position is essential for ensuring that our workforce reflects our commitment to inclusivity and community service, while also driving strategic HR initiatives.
**Responsibilities**
- Serve as the first point of contact for HR-related questions and concerns.
- Support performance management and employee development programs.
- Ensure compliance with provincial, federal, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Participate in HR projects such as DEI initiatives, employee engagement, and policy development.
- Assist with offboarding processes, including exit interviews and documentation.
- Monitor and track training certifications (First Aid) and background checks (CRC, VSC, CAR).
- Send out scheduled employee engagement surveys and monitor and track completion rates.
- Spearhead our Occupational Health and Safety Program, hold monthly meetings and address concerns as they arise.
- Develop and implement tools, resources and training to ensure Association’s Managers are equipped to follow established procedures and policies
- Other duties as assigned by the CEO
**Requirements**:
- Proven experience in human resources management, preferably in a non-profit or community-focused organization.
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to manage employee relations effectively and navigate complex situations.
- Experience with budgeting processes related to HR functions is an asset.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: From $58,240.00 per year
