**As a TEAMMATE**:
As a **Research Scientist - Remote**, you will be a part of the Research and Advanced Development Team at Natus Medical. You will be investigating and implementing state-of-the-art technologies for the development of next-generation products in the areas of neurodiagnostics (e.g. EMG, EEG, PSG, ICP Monitoring).

**What you’ll get to do in this role**:
- Work closely with internal and external customers to understand the user and clinical needs and translate it into a concept that will be refined via a continuous iterative feedback process
- Design, develop and test concepts that could lead to the next generation products and platforms, data visualization tools, and algorithms
- Design and execute studies/experiments to demonstrate feasibility, establish benefits and identify path-to-product risks
- Identify new market opportunities, research ‘the latest and greatest’ cutting-edge external neurological technology and prepare cases to show its validity and applicability to the Natus product portfolio
- Develop intellectual property in strategic areas of interest. May be asked to write, review, and submit patents
- Exercise data modeling and machine learning techniques to advance the utilization of medical devices by patients, practitioners, and service personnel
- Perform data cleaning, curation, architecture modeling and AI model training for use with primarily neurophysiological datasets
- **Travel**: Up to 10% domestic or international travel on a project need basis
**What we are looking for**:
- BS required, MS or PhD preferred in Biomedical Engineering, Neurophysiology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of product development experience in the medical device industry
- Hands-on knowledge and experience setting up machine and deep learning
- Coding experience (e.g. Matlab, C, C++, C#, or Python), and/or computational modeling experience (COMSOL) in medical device industry setting
- Experience developing neurophysiological sensor-based data acquisition systems (e.g. EMG, EEG) or signal processing algorithms (e.g. Seizure Detection) in a medical device industry setting.
- Entrepreneurial; self-directed and excited to build something from scratch.
- High-energy self-starter with a passion for your work, attention to detail, and a positive attitude.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Experience managing multiple projects in a deadline driven environment given potential for rapidly changing priorities.
