Who are we?

We are a specialty bakery and café, nestled in Abbotsford’s historic downtown. We are free from gluten, peanuts and sesame, with a focus on high quality, locally sourced food and drinks. We happen to be mostly dairy-free, with lots of vegan + vegetarian options. (And not-so-vegan choices for the I’ll-eat-anything types.)

We strive to be a sustainable part of our community, and a local landmark for gluten
- and allergen-free treats and staples.

We are looking for a Full Time Morning Baker to join our team + shop family.

We would love to see someone creative as our Morning Baker, with an eagerness to learn and the patience to continue improving; gluten free baking can be a tough nut to crack

Someone who can work both independently and within a team, with the ability to multitask, while remaining focused and present. Members of our team take pride in providing quality products, while also having the ability to work with urgency in a fast-paced environment and supporting each other in all areas of the shop.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Preparing and baking products
- Maintaining precision and consistency with each product; it should reflect the standards of The Polly Fox and meet the expectations of both the shop and the guest
- Maintaining a clean workspace
- Maintaining daily production levels
- Ensuring each finished product is customer-ready
- Assisting with daily prep
- Preparing made-to-order items, such as sandwiches and salads

**Skills and Qualification**
- Ability to learn new recipes, and recipe follow-through and comprehension
- Ability to multitask and work under deadlines
- Strong communication; we love transparency and open, confident communication
- Team-oriented; we love to see those who take an interest in their team, connecting with one another to inspire continuous improvement

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $16.75-$19.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Weekends as needed

Supplemental pay types:

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Abbotsford, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- baking/kitchen: 2 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

- FoodSafe (required)
