Heritage Skills Development Centre is seeking for a part time Employment Counsellor who is passionate in supporting improve employment outcomes of racialized women and youth through skills development and complete wrap around support. The Employment Counsellor is responsible for facilitating workshops and delivering one on one employment for individuals. This includes the delivery of Job Search workshop, employment-related counselling and assessment, information and referral provision, connecting clients to mentors and other wrap around support.

**Responsibilities**:

- Facilitate pre-employment essential skills and employment retention skills training
- Deliver all components of the employment services to racialized individuals including employment assessment, goals setting and action plan preparation, monitoring, referrals, life skills support, job search workshops’ facilitation and follow up
- Provide tailored employment support including resume and cover letter writing, interviewing skills practice, navigating job search platforms and training/education initiatives
- Effectively track participants’ progress and provide reports for supervisor
- Recruit employers for and mentors for virtual job fairs and mentorship activities
- Maintain strong working relations with employment agencies and partner agencies to provide collaborative support to marginalized individuals
- Supporting a drop-in space environment and connecting marginalized women to various services and staff appointments accordingly
- Perform other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:

- A degree or diploma in Education, Business, Social Work, Human Resources or relevant field. and at least three years’ experience working in the Employment or Career Counselling or non-for profit sector
- Demonstrated experience working with marginalized women facing multiple barriers to employment
- Demonstrated career and employment counselling skills
- At least three years of experience working with groups: developing and delivering presentations, seminars, workshops
- Excellent interpersonal, cross cultural, written and verbal communication skills
- Results oriented with superior oral and written communication skills, excellent time management skills, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- High level of self-awareness; strong coping skills and supportive community
- Knowledge of job search strategies, Canadian Labour Market, and standard workplace practices
- Strong administrative skills with attention to detail
