Cabinet Builder Benchman

Our well-established custom millwork/cabinet shop in Aldergrove is looking to hire a new Cabinet Builder Benchman to join our team.

The Cabinet and Custom Specialty Parts Builder Benchman is responsible for producing custom and special parts and cabinets that are not part of regular production. Responsibilities and duties will include:

- Go over jobs with Product Engineer and clarify details for custom specialty parts and cabinets and note any exceptions to standard practices
- Interpret drawings and produce a list of custom parts and cabinet pieces that need to be built
- Cut and assemble custom parts and cabinets using a wide range of materials as well as woodworking machinery and small hand tools
- Sort and organize cabinet parts to send to the finishing department
- Assist in an assortment of shop duties, CNC operation, edge-banding, loading/shipping cabinets for installers, final assembling cabinets, etc.
- Receive, sort and distribute shop deliveries as needed
- Assist on site with cabinet delivery and installs as needed
- Keep work area and materials storage area organized

Qualifications for this position include:

- Minimum 5 years experience in the cabinet making industry
- Competency with wood-working tools such as small hand and power tools, chop saw, table saw, panel saw, edge bander and other large woodworking machinery
- Ability to read tape measure to 1/32 of an inch
- Ability to read and understand shop drawings and measurements
- Efficient in reading and communicating fluently in English
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Willing and able to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift more than 50 lbs
- Willing to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment
- Able to adapt well to changes, pivot when needed and multi-task
- Able to prioritize and be aware of timelines
- Commitment to safety guidelines and policies

We offer:

- (A long weekend every weekend) 4 day work week - Monday to Thursday - 7:00 am to 5:30pm
- Starting wage - dependent on experience
- After 3 month probation period - Full Coverage Extensive Benefits package
