**Essential Duties**:

- nvestigating claim losses and ensuring prompt and equitable settlements in-line with corporate policies and standards.
- Evaluating each claim assigning and proposing claim reserves.
- Analyzing the information gathered, interpreting insurance policy wordings, determining coverage, and assessing damage and/or liability.
- Within established authority limits, negotiating with insureds, claimants, lawyers, and insurers to settle claims.
- Composing claims reports to outline findings and settlements.
- Maintaining effective communication channels with claims departments and liaising with adjusters, experts, management, and other claims representatives on technical and administrative issues.
- Maintaining current knowledge of insurance products as well as appraisal or investigation techniques and services.
- Identifying process improvement needs and recommending changes to policies or procedures to maintain quality service and competitiveness.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum of five (+2) years of auto bodily injury claims handling experience.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and the relationship to quantum is required.
- Strong technical knowledge of legislation across Western Canada, with emphasis in Alberta and British Columbia.
- Effective communication skills with internal and external clients both verbally and in writing.
- Experience in mandatory and private mediations/settlement conferences is preferred but not required.
- Experience in handling claims with losses in USA is an asset.
- Post-secondary education and/or are working towards your CIP Designation. Achieving CIP designation within the timeline as required by provincial licensing authority will be mandatory for this role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work effectively in a virtual or remote setting.
- Organizational skills.

Our business hours are Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm.
