Maintenance Technician

Role and Responsibilities Position Profile Position located in Trenton, Ontario. - The maintenance technician performs Elementary, Servicing and Maintenance duties in support of the C130J Maintenance training Center. - Perform maintenance on aircraft avionic systems, mechanical, structural and electrical systems. This will include, but not be limited to, the servicing, inspection, removal, cleaning, repair, installation, adjustment, testing of aircraft avionic systems or mechanical, structural and electrical systems and components and ground support equipment. - Thorough knowledge of aircraft systems, including, but not limited to, power plants, flight controls, dynamic systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, environmental, basic structures and power generation and distribution systems. - Maintain and clean workspaces around classrooms, computer rooms, hangar, mechanical and electrical shop, stores and office areas, remove all debris accumulated by tasks performed and maintain a clean, safe work area. - Ability to handle sensitive situations with tact and be a dynamic team player. - Thorough understanding of aircraft terminology or simulation devices. - Ability to interpret schematics and other technical documents pertaining to C130 aircraft and aviation. - As part of a team, provides preventive and corrective maintenance, as detailed in the quality and maintenance documents, to achieve required availability. - Monitors all training devices and ensures the resolution of system actual and potential problems. - Confers with technical experts and colleagues to formulate solutions. - Debug and troubleshoot problems spanning a wide range of technologies, including, but not limited to: computer systems, hydraulic systems and avionics systems. - Other duties as required in support of the full operation of the C130J maintenance training facility. - Be available to work shift work - Be able to hold a Canadian Security Clearance - In accordance with CAE’s Epidemic/Pandemic vaccination policy, as the work to be performed occurs on a customer site where vaccination is required by the Government of Canada, there is a condition of employment to be fully vaccinated. EDUCATION - 2-year technical degree or equivalent Avionics /Aviation related training EXPERIENCE - 3 years aircraft experience with at least 1 year relative simulator experience or equivalent COMPLEXITY AND CREATIVITY - PROBLEM SOLVING - Carry out Routine Tasks + Intermediate level Tasks - Working knowledge of MS-Office tools and suite - Demonstrated proficiency with all types of test equipment. - Demonstrated troubleshooting skills - Thorough understanding of aircraft terminology or simulation devices. - Demonstrated ability to perform in-depth analysis and research for hardware modifications and upgrades. - Demonstrated ability as the “Technical Expert” on at least one major aircraft system - Demonstrate ability to interpret system prints and schematics.
