Network Systems Analyst

The Network Systems Analyst is responsible for supporting the operation and ongoing maintenance of the personal computing systems required to support the needs of staff in the Public Works Department. The position provides technical support in the installation and maintenance of computer, mobile, and audiovisual hardware and software, by resolving operational difficulties and providing functional support to end users.
**As the **_Network Systems Analyst,_** **you will**:
- Install, configure, bench test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end user computing devices, related hardware and software, maintain security and effective system operation.
- Support user and group accounts for identity and access management.
- Support and troubleshoot Local Area Network (LAN) related issues including connectivity, IP addressing, ports, subnets, DHCP, etc., collaborating with corporate infrastructure teams.
- Provide end users with general guidance and training related to the use of personal computers/peripherals, software and the local area network.
- Execute endpoint risk and cybersecurity controls and response.
- Perform other related duties consistent with the classification as required.
**Your education and qualifications include**:
- Diploma in a technology-focused discipline or equivalent education and experience.
- Current A+ certification, Network+ Certification, ITIL certification, Microsoft 365 Fundamentals Certificate, and/or equivalent certifications is preferred.
- Experience investigating, analyzing, evaluating, and resolving desktop and mobility problems.
- Experience in configuration and operation of personal computer hardware and software, including installation of memory, hard drives, and other peripherals.
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with personnel at all levels of the organization, external contacts, and the public, in accordance with the Respectful Workplace Standard.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, including the ability to prepare and conduct training sessions.
- Ability to provide quality customer service.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to work under stressful conditions and tight timelines under minimum supervision.
- Knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Office 365.
- Ability to query reports and maintain relational databases utilizing Structured Query Language (SQL) is preferred.
- Knowledge of desktop support technologies, including: Group Policy, remote connectivity tools and services, scripting.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity including: Endpoint protection, network and firewall concepts.

- Must possess and maintain a valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver's License.
