The Opportunity
We are currently looking to hire a Maintenance Manager for our Rehabilitation Facility in **Grouard, Alberta.** This opportunity will be a 12-hour rotational one week on - one week off permanent position. You’ll get to work with a growing organization where you will gain valuable experience in the field of rehabilitation care

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Maintenance Manager is responsible for supporting the achievement of objectives in the areas of safety, cost, and productivity. They will also lead the Organization in its operations and purchasing functions. The scope of this position is broad with it overseeing and supporting many functions, such as the Centre’s Fleet, Service Department, Aftercare Houses, Buildings, and Equipment. The Operations Manager will also have direct oversight over the maintenance function.
Some key responsibilities include:
- Works closely with the Management team to set strategic priorities consistent with the long-term direction of the Centre and oversees the implementation of operational plans.
- Works with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders in managing the Centre’s operations, operating fleet, core services, housing, buildings, equipment, purchasing, and maintenance.
- Responsible for the overall planning, scheduling, and direction of the Operations function to ensure all operational activities are carried out in a cost efficient, safe, and productive manner and executed with a high degree of accuracy and quality.
- Managing workflow for the Operations function by monitoring personnel and resources and developing reporting processes & procedures.
- Identify improvement opportunities for operational policies, processes, and procedures, and either lead or recommend plans of action.
- Develop and implement effective supplier relations program to leverage purchasing power. Ensure the lowest possible cost for equipment and materials purchased, maximize rebate and incentive opportunities, expand current supplier lists and generate new business relationships.
- Negotiates purchasing agreements resulting in the lowest possible cost for equipment and materials purchased.
- Provide day to day coaching and performance management to maximize productivity, engagement, and overall contributions of the team.
- Will support management with conducting on-site quality checks to ensure services are performed within standards.
- Provide reports to management on achievement of daily and weekly Operations Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Will also analyze data and provide recommendations to improve KPI performance.
- Supports with full-cycle recruitment and identifying and planning for future hiring needs.
- Will also oversee warehouse efficiency in terms of receiving equipment and materials.
- Support the health and safety program on an ongoing basis and also lead weekly team member safety meetings.
- Develop and deliver effective communications with direct reports, teams, other functions, and other internal and external contacts, as required.
Who You Are
- Post-Secondary Education in the field of Business, Operations Management, or related field is required. A combination of experience and some Post-Secondary education would be considered.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive and diverse experience working at a similar facility or in a healthcare environment.
- 5+ years of previous experience leading a small team is required.
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License is required with a clean Drivers Abstract.
