**Term: November 2025 - end of March 2028**

**Location: Community office, 3008 Oxford St, Suite 202, Halifax NS**

**Wage: $30/hour, 35 hours/week (some evening work required)**

**About New Start**:
New Start is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting healthy relationships and addressing intimate partner and family violence. Our services include individual and group counselling for those who have used abuse or violence within their relationships, counselling for partners/former partners of clients, as well as community workshops and public education. In addition, New Start offers social work services and resource navigation for clients, and programming for fathers and father figures through our Fatherhood Matters team.

**About the role**:
New Start is hiring a full time Coparenting Facilitator to deliver the “Cooperative Co-Parenting Through Separation or Divorce” program. The Cooperative Coparenting program is designed to support co-parents in fostering and maintaining healthy parental relationships with both each other and their children. The facilitator will be responsible for promoting the program by connecting directly with clients and with community partners, facilitating the group on a regular basis with support from additional New Start staff, conducting evaluations and follow ups with participants and adhering to reporting requirements outlined by the funder. This role will include regular group facilitation, building community partnerships to extend the reach of the program, and delivering the program in a one-on-one setting with clients. The Coparenting Facilitator will contribute to other New Start programming as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary diploma/degree in a human service field, or equivalent experience
- Excellent group facilitation skills and experience with program evaluation
- Demonstrated experience working with parents and families, knowledge of family law an asset
- Demonstrated understanding of a trauma-informed approach to service delivery
- Experience working with individuals who have used or experienced violence considered an asset
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a professional team
- Experience working with diverse communities and identities using social determinants of health lens
- Ability to establish and maintain personal/program boundaries, while providing supportive services
- Ability to foster positive working relationships with community partners

**Job Types**: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 29 months

Pay: $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
