**Job Summary Statement**:
The Transportation Recruiter is the point of contact for all employees' of the Transportation department and will address day-to-day HR related questions. The role is responsible for human resources functions including recruitment/selection, coaching, and performance management.

**Essential Functions & Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for full cycle recruitment and selection process for the Transportation department.including **AZ drivers**:

- Participate in job fairs and other networking events
- Develop relationships and liaise with recruitment agencies, educational institutions and other third parties as needed
- Track provincial regulations and relevant standards to ensure policies and procedures are updated accordingly
- Ensure employees are informed by updating documents and using various communication channels
- Assign drivers corrective action training when an incident occurs
- Help to coordinate employee engagement initiatives
- Provide support to employee’s with issues/inquires relating to benefits
- Maintain Driver employee files and the HR filing system
- Maintain drug and alcohol tests, medicals, background checks, US screening, abstracts & CVOR for drivers
- Keep drivers up to date by hosting driver meetings
- Assist with managing the Return-to-Work program for non-work-related illness/injury.
- Assist with authorities paperwork, keeping all files up to date
- Assist with the internal job posting program with regards to any postings for the Transportation department
- Assist in ensuring appropriate updates for job descriptions, employee policies, procedures, work instructions and employee handbook.
- Evaluate existing training programs and other key training initiatives and provide suggestions on revisions
- Track the administration of the annual performance review process for Transportation Department employees and ensure performance evaluation methods are adhered to by all supervisors and managers
- Assist in handling employee relations, including internal and external HR related inquiries/concerns/complaints and employee terminations.
- Monitor employee attendance and work with management to initiate counseling sessions and corrective action where necessary.
- Provide support in the creation of disciplinary letters for supervisors and managers for all infractions
- Assist dispatch adding temp drivers to fleet
- All other HR-related or administrative duties as assigned by management

**Job Specifications—Skills and Competencies**:

- A Bachelors’ degree or college diploma in **HR-related field** is preferred combined with a **minimum 3 years of Transportation industry experience is required**:

- Effective oral and written communication and excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well within a team environment and independently
- Knowledge of Health & Safety standards
- A self-starter possessing excellent organizational skills
- Well versed in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
- Great attention to detail and high accuracy with data entry.
- You have experience with recruiting best practices.
- A positive and proactive approach towards solving problems and meeting challenges
- Ability to deal with confidential information and interact with all levels of employees
- Working knowledge of and the ability to interpret the Employment Standards Act and other applicable legislations
