Jacob Bros Construction is expanding our Equipment Division, and we're immediately hiring a **Maintenace Superintendent - Heavy Equipment **to support our state-of-the-art shop and maintance facility in South Surrey.
**Responsibilities**:
- Works closely with the Equipment Manager and Operations team to schedule and dispatch technicians for preventative maintenance, running repairs and emergency call outs while minimizing operational impact.
- Supervises the Equipment Technicians, Equipment Field Service Technicians.
- Ensuring every employee has a thorough understanding of his or her duties and responsibilities.
- Monitoring equipment department employees' daily productivity against agreed targets and corresponding payroll records.
- Ensuring that the vehicles and equipment are in good, safe running order.
- Ensuring that regular maintenance service is performed on the equipment per company service intervals and that maintenance records are kept.
- Maintains high-quality service repairs and minimizes comebacks. Conducts periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality.
- Monitors and oversees purchasing of shop supplies and parts, seeking cost effective alternatives to ensure cost conscious purchasing.
- Maintains open communications and good relationships with department personnel, including maintaining a respectful and professional work environment.
- Proficiently diagnoses and troubleshoots equipment deficiencies on job sites and in shop.
- Completes repairs and overhaul equipment and mechanical products.
- Diagnoses root cause problems and provide detailed repair suggestions.
- Manage, mentor, and lead a team of technicians, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure high-quality workmanship and a cohesive team.
- Other duties as required.
**Qualifications**:
- Red Seal Certified journey person - Heavy Duty
- Must have experience performing engine and transmission rebuilds
- Experienced with welding and fabricating an asset
- Adaptable and able to work under pressure
- Minimum 15 years experience, majority in a heavy construction equipment environment
- Legally entitled to work for any employer in Canada
- Excellent English verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Working computer knowledge, including a thorough understanding of computer based diagnostic software for various brands of heavy equipment and heavy trucks
- Excellent English verbal, written and interpersonal skills
