Seasonal Wastewater Treatment Plant Relief Operator

**Position Overview**:
Employees in this position are required to assist operations, directed by a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator, through the duration of their duty. This position is meant to provide relief during a seasonal period (approx. April 15 - September 15) with additional demands at the plant.

**Principle Duties & Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Out-of-Scope Manager or designate, performs duties, with direction supervision from the operations/maintenance staff, according to clearly defined procedures.

Duties and Tasks
? Assists in relieving duties of Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators and assumes the Operator's schedule and duties.
? Assists in performing of repair and maintenance work at the Wastewater Treatment Plant and sewage lift stations.
? Operate relevant equipment as required (i.e. Loader, Bobcat)
? Follow the Act, Regulations and policies of Occupational Health & Safety.
? Follow Acts, Regulations, Bylaws, Agreements, policies and procedures.
? Perform other related work as assigned.

? Proven ability to accept responsibility and demonstrate leadership.
? Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions both verbally and in writing.
? Ability to learn and adapt quickly, and work with mínimal supervision.
? Ability to deal effectively with co-workers.
? Good organizational skills.
? Ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail.
? Ability to maintain accurate records and compile data.
? Demonstrated basic mechanical and electrical understanding.
? Ability to work with mínimal supervision.

**Required Qualifications**:
? Grade 12.
? Currently pursuing a university or technical degree in an applicable science, engineering or technical program.
? Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License and safe driving record.
