Director of CareAbout the Role

As the Director of Care, you will lead the day-to-day operations of the Nursing Department and oversee facility-wide operations in the absence of the Administrator. You will play a vital role in ensuring high-quality care for our 53 residents, working collaboratively with Nurse Practitioners, Medical Doctors, Registered Dietitians, Physiotherapists, and other interdisciplinary team members.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate all aspects of resident care, ensuring alignment with the Fixing Long-Term Care Act (FLTCA), 2021.
- Lead, mentor, and support nursing staff to foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Act as a key contributor to the overall morale and culture of the Home.
- Collaborate with other departments to deliver comprehensive care.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and organizational standards.
- Manage documentation and care planning using PointClickCare (PCC) and Microsoft Office programs.
- Provide on-call support and be available for occasional evening hours.

**Qualifications**:

- Registered Nurse (RN) diploma required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) preferred.
- Current RN license in good standing.
- Up-to-date CPR certification.
- Experience in geriatrics and chronic care is essential.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Proficient with computer programs, including Microsoft Office and PCC.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently and collaboratively.
- Current criminal record check and vulnerable sector screening required prior to start.
