The HF Programs Specialist (Individual Conditioning) plays a vital role in delivering high-quality personal training and group fitness experiences that support members in achieving their health and wellness goals. With a focus on building meaningful relationships, the Specialist fosters a strong sense of community and ensures every member feels recognized, supported, and motivated. This role contributes to client retention and revenue generation through the implementation of the Member Insight Strategy and the Membership Involvement Model. In addition to working directly with members, the Specialist mentors staff and volunteers, promotes innovation and best practices, and supports organizational priorities through leadership in cross-functional initiatives.

**In this role, you will**:

- Conduct personal training and fitness consultations, and ensure exceptional service experiences in all individual conditioning areas, including follow-ups to assist members in achieving their personal fitness goals
- Lead various group program areas, including group fitness classes and all adult recreational sports programs
- Organize and administer a case management approach in managing relationships with new members, and create paperless programs that enable them to achieve their personal health goals
- Build relationships with members and seek opportunities to share the YMCA story. Educate members and guests on the YMCA as a charity
- Assist the Director in the development and management of departmental budgets and achieve all performance indicators and standards, including those related to MOR, retention, and YMCA Priority SAM standards
- Deliver Basic Theory and Individual Conditioning components and assist in the apprenticeship of the YMCA Fitness Leadership Program
- Provide leadership and support as a member of the Centre's senior staff team. Act as an effective Service Leader and Acting Service Leader as required
- Participate in task groups, special assignments, and opportunities that further the Association’s mission, vision, and strategic initiatives, including the Core Service Functional Group
- Perform other duties as assigned

**You bring**:

- Post-secondary education in Recreation Leadership, Kinesiology, Physical Education, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience
- Personal Trainer Certification (i.e. CPTN, ACE, etc.)
- Certified Fitness Consultant (CFC) an asset
- Current Standard First Aid/CPR required
- Demonstrated strong leadership skills developed through progressively responsible experience in a supervisory role in group fitness programs; ability to encourage, motivate staff and volunteers, acknowledge, and appreciate contributions
- Previous experience in the development and implementation of new programs is an asset
- Proficiency with computer software, including Excel, Outlook, etc
- Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, and weekends
- Well-developed interpersonal and relationship-building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with members, staff, and volunteers; excellent written communication skills
