Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure the Utilities Supervisor is responsible for the direction, leadership, and management of the County's water, wastewater, and solid waste utilities. This position acts as the County's primary resource with respect to utility projects on behalf of the County, as assigned by the Director of Infrastructure.

**Responsibilities**

The successful incumbent will hold responsibility for the following function (but not limited to):

- Evaluate and make recommendations to the Director of Infrastructure for the review and update of County objectives, as related to water and wastewater utility infrastructure and services, and solid waste management infrastructure and services
- Perform supervisory and performance management responsibilities regarding, Utility Operator, Waste Management Operators, Transfer Station Attendants, Casual Transfer Station Attendants.
- Assist with the establishment and coordination of reviewing, updating, and implementation of long-range planning processes, with respect to water and wastewater.
- Administer and maintain services and procedures, in alignment with the corporate policy, and ensure the coordination of water and wastewater utility services with the activities of other Departments.
- Contributes to completion of special projects, as required by the Director of Infrastructure.
- Responsible for the effective overall management of the County’s water and wastewater utilities and for maintaining a clear and positive corporate image in line with corporate beliefs and principles.
- Assist all other departments, as required, and perform other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**
- Post-secondary education in a related field, combined with a minimum Level I Water and Wastewater Operator certificate; must possess and maintain certification at all times.
- Minimum of 3 years relevant and related work experience, preferably in a supervisory role and leading in a team environment.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Alberta Operator’s License.

- Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills, including the ability to clearly communicate complex and technical information.
- Ability to build and maintain effective professional relationships with public and private organizations.
- Attention to detail, solid problem solving, and advanced analytical skills.
- Strong initiative and leadership qualities.
