Communications Specialist

**Responsibilities**: Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia is currently searching for a Communications Specialist to join our team in Burnaby The Communications Specialist will be responsible for planning and executing a range of corporate communication and stakeholder engagement activities and programs to support the strategic goals of the organization. This includes developing and implementing communication and outreach strategies, managing corporate communication activities, advancing strategic initiatives, and providing support for media relations, social media, and events. The Communications Specialist will have the opportunity to join a high-performing and close-knit team of professionals working within the unique landscape of regulatory communications. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING - Planning and executing communication and stakeholder engagement programs and activities including general communication support to internal and external stakeholders; identifying opportunities for improvement and making adjustments where required. - Providing primary support for the planning and execution of long-term communications strategies related to the organization's regulatory programs. This includes strategies to maintain and support high compliance with continuing education requirements for individuals and permit requirements for firms. - Developing messaging and creating communications support materials and collateral for the organization's corporate communications, public relations and stakeholder engagement activities. - Reviewing and editing key registrant communications to ensure alignment with the organization's brand and corporate communication style guide. - Participating in the organization and on-site delivery of the Annual Conference and AGM. - Other duties as assigned by management. WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE The successful applicant will possess the following: - Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field - 5-7 years of progressive experience in communications or public relations - Experience in a member's association or regulatory body is preferred WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU Each member of our team enables us to deliver on our vision of "modern regulation for a resilient world".
