Position Posting: Bus Driver

We are currently looking for Bus Drivers who would be responsible for safely transporting students to field trips, school trips, to and from the airport, ferry, after school activities and weekend activities.

On-the-job training
- This position is on-call working on an as needed basis based on the areas below for 10 months a year(school year)
- Hours of work:

- Monday-Friday hours vary between 8:30am-5:30 pm. Hours are dependent based on scheduled field trips, after school activities and other school outings
- Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday hours vary dependent on weekend activities
- Breaks(Winter, Spring, Summer and start of school) This is driving to and from the airport, school and ferry when students are returning home and returning to school
- $27.00 per hour plus 4% in lieu
- Potential to participate in other areas such as coaching and activities and chaperoning

**Responsibilities**:

- Safely drive students to and from school activities. Changes to routes do occur. These are schedules for certain days of the week, and flexibility is needed with changes.
- Perform Pre-trip and Post-trip inspection reports, reporting to Transportation Supervisor and Maintenance Supervisor when concerns arise.
- Comply with all school and government regulations, laws and policies and good safety practices.
- Communication with Transportation Team
- 1-2 years driving experience, preferably in the education sector
- Is punctual, reliable and versatile
- Able to perform manual tasks and physical demands as required within the duties such as periods of standing, assisting with luggage of lifting, bending, and twisting
- Is positive with a caring attitude
- Can work cooperatively and with mínimal supervision
- Communicates clearly and respectfully with parents, school staff, students and the general public in a courteous, professional manner and is able to maintain confidentiality.

Requirements for this position:

- Current BC Class 4 unrestricted or Class 2 Drivers License
- Must pass and maintain a clear criminal record check for the purposes of working with vulnerable children
- Provide a copy of your clean BC driver's abstract
