Vancouver Aboriginal Health Society (VAHS) is a not-for-profit organization located in the Downtown Eastside community for over 30 years. VAHS programs are designed by and for urban Aboriginal people to promote physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness. Our services include a Primary Care Clinic, a Dental Clinic, a cultural team of Elders and Knowledge Keepers, and Indigenous Early Years programs.

**About VAHS Dental**:
The VAHS Dental Clinic is in its 15th year of operation. With the support of administrative staff and a full-time dentist, services are provided by dentists, specialists, hygienists, and assistants.

Our Dental Clinic offers preventative and urgent services to patients with little or no dental coverage; it is the lowest barrier option to address basic dental needs for people in the Lower Mainland.

The Clinic does actively seek volunteer dentists and hygienists to supplement our Dental practice on an ongoing basis and we are grateful for our volunteers.

**Responsibilities**:
Perform routine dental examinations, diagnoses, and treatment planning.

Administer general and preventative dental care to patients of all ages.

Execute restorative and cosmetic procedures, including fillings, crowns, bridges, and veneers.

Conduct oral surgeries and extractions when necessary.

Collaborate with dental hygienists, assistants, and other team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Stay updated on the latest advancements in dentistry and incorporate new techniques and technologies into practice.

Maintain accurate patient records and follow ethical and legal standards.

**Qualifications**:
Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited dental school.

Licensed to practice dentistry in the province of British Columbia.

Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, with proficiency in a wide range of dental procedures.

Exceptional diagnostic and communication skills.

Strong commitment to patient care, comfort, and satisfaction.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high standards of clinical excellence.

Excellent time management skills and the ability to handle a diverse caseload efficiently.
