**POSTION SUMMARY**:
Under the direction of the Front of House Management Team, our Host creates a positive guest experience that begins with a proper greeting. They maintain an efficient and organized restaurant through managing guest flow, maximizing seating capacity and communicating with all employees. Hosts leave a lasting impression with all guests through their professionalism and attention to detail.
**GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
You will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standard:
- Ensure that the front entrance, host stand and surrounding areas are fully stocked and free from clutter and debris
- Effectively manage guest flow to maximize seating capacity
- Communicate with Servers, Bartenders and Managers to maintain proper guest flow throughout the restaurant
- Communicate expected restaurant volume with the kitchen to ensure all necessary preparations can be made
- Accurately take reservations and modify guest status in Open Table
- Know all table numbers and maintain awareness of which servers are in each section
- Fill out detailed special requests in Open Table for birthdays, anniversaries, VIPs, etc. and ensure that all fellow crew members are informed
- Escort guests to their table, engage them in conversation and seat them accordingly
- Have a pulse on what is happening in each section (BW, DR, Lounge etc..) while service is going
- Have knowledge of the menu
- Take room service orders
- Understanding of Payment system. Be able to take payment for a guest
- Other duties as assigned or required
**SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS**:
To successfully fill this role, you should demonstrate the following:
- High attention to detail
- Ability to remain calm under pressure while working in a fast-paced environment
- Organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain a level of professional urgency and momentum
- Minimum 1 year experience in customer service and/or restaurant experience considered an asset
- Positive attitude and a willingness to think outside the box
- A passion for the industry and meeting new people
