**Reports to**:
The Early Childhood Educator reports to the Program Supervisor.
**Here’s how you will make a positive impact on a day-to-day basis**:
- Plan, implement, and evaluate activities and experiences to meet the individual and group needs of all children and families of a childcare program.
- Guide and care for a group of children ages 14 months to Toddler age
- Encourage learning and develop positive self-concepts for children
- Ensure a healthy and safe environment for children
- Maintain effective and cooperative teamwork and communication
- Maintain positive and supportive relationships with parents and families
**In addition to being a wonderful and positive person & team player, you must have**:
- ECE Infant / Toddler &/or Special Needs Certification
- Childcare First Aid and Food Safe Level 1
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication
- Strong knowledge and awareness of:
- Emergent curriculum and the BC Early Learning Framework
- Developmental needs of children
- Family engagement strategies and parenting issues and needs
- Guiding and caring strategies
- Knowledge of the broader childcare field and its role in the community
**Additional skills and experiences may include**:
- Childcare experience working in an inclusive childcare setting
- Second Language
**Terms of Employment**:
- Salary: $27.90 per hour plus employer-paid health and welfare benefits. In addition, you will receive $6 per hour in Provincial ECE Wage Enhancement.
- Temporary Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
- Starting: As soon as possible and this position is a birthing parent leave position until August 31, 2026
