As a Cost Control Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial tracking, reporting, and forecasting throughout the lifecycle of major ship repair or shipbuilding projects. This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining robust cost control systems, and for providing support to the Project Management Office in all cost and forecasting aspects of the project.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Ensure proper project setup in alignment with Davie’s Finance and governance frameworks.
- Establish and maintain cost control systems that adhere to industry best practices and internal standards.
- Monitor, control, and report financial performance for projects and programs throughout their lifecycle.
- Conduct variance and trend analysis using actual cost data to refine forecasts and provide insight into future cost performance.
- Prepare forward-looking cash flow forecasts and comprehensive budget analyses comparing planned versus actual costs.
- Provide accurate and timely cost status reports, highlighting deviations, identifying root causes, and recommending corrective actions.
- Review and validate subcontractor invoices and submit for approval.
- Interface with project planners and schedulers to ensure integrated cost-schedule control and alignment across functions.
- Ensure that change orders are properly recorded, monitored, and reflected in the project forecast.
- Ensure accurate reconciliation of transactions within the Oracle Project Module by validating successful data transfer through system interfaces.
- Support continuous improvement efforts and participate in yard-wide initiatives to enhance project performance and financial management.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and local requirements.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Project Management, Business Administration or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in cost control or financial analysis.
- Experience with Earned Value Management.
- Experience in the maritime industry or on major infrastructure projects.
- Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Bilingual (French and English). Proficiency in English is required for this position, as the incumbent will be required to interact with our English-speaking clients, partners, and suppliers.
- Organization and time-management skills, with theability to meet deadlines.
- Strong collaboration skills, get-it-done attitude, and team spirit. Successfully complete the investigation and security clearance process required under the federal government’s Contract Security Program.
