Our Telecommunications team is looking for an experienced **Backhoe Operator,** who has experience operating heavy duty machinery in a shallow utilities setting. You will be supporting the delivery of quality fiber to the home services to our new customers in **Red Deer, AB and the surrounding areas.**

**SHIFT INFORMATION**:

- Up to 12-hour working day
- 11 days on 3 days off rotation

**WHAT YOU WILL DO**
- Operate and maintain a 310SL or 410L John Deere backhoe and all attachments including maintenance, may include a mini excavator when required.
- Trenching and Excavation of shallow utilities for the purpose of Telecom installations in urban and rural settings
- Manhole and pullbox installations in soft surface and asphalt locations
- Utility over digs including hot digs when required
- Willingness to help on the ground when required to assist the team
- The ability to read and analyze site drawings and plans.
- Safety conscious and organization skills is a must.
- Site rehabilitation
- Understanding of equipment, maintenance, and in-field troubleshooting.
- Ground disturbance protocols
- Has own reliable transportation and valid drivers’ license
- Clean drivers abstract
- Able to pass a criminal background check
