The Journeyman Carpenter is responsible for constructing, repairing, and installing the structural woodwork and related materials within West Edmonton Mall.
**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required.
- Install structures and fixtures such as frames, floorings, and trim using hand tools or power tools.
- Ensure that all installations, repairs, and maintenance are properly sized, aligned, supported and graded.
- Ensure that all installations, repairs, and maintenance meet the requirements of the appropriate codes and West Edmonton Mall building requirements.
- Ensure compliance will all Occupational Health and Safety legislation guidelines, standards, policies and procedures.
- May supervise, co-ordinate, and schedule activities of apprentice carpenters and labourers.
- Other responsibilities as required.

**DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Possession of a valid 3rd year, 4th year, or Journeyman Carpentry certification is required.
- A minimum of three (3) years experience in a Commercial or Industrial Carpenter environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

**TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT**:

- This is a full-time position required Monday through Friday from 7:00am-3:30pm.
- Must be able to pass a basic security clearance.
- This position has a starting rate of $33.00/hour
