DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position provides specialization within the Eating Disorders Program in aspects of nutritional assessment and treatment for clients with eating disorders and related mental health difficulties. Works effectively and collaboratively as a self-directed, interdisciplinary team member within the Eating Disorders Program. Provides nutrition education, presentations and workshops for clients and their families. Provides optimum quality nutritional care for clients and engages in ongoing training and upgrading as are necessary to maintain optimal quality of care to clients who receive services in the Eating Disorders Program. Also serves as nutrition resource person for hospital, staff and health-care team members, and community partners including physicians. Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Registration with the College of Dietitians of Ontario;
- Sound and current clinical background in all aspects of nutritional care, particularly in the area of eating disorders;
- Previous clinical experience in an eating disorder program is preferred;
- Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal;
- Experience with health teaching in both individual and group settings;
- Demonstrated ability to practice safe and sanitary procedures at all times;
- Substantial training and experience in the area of eating disorders with both adolescent and adult populations;
- Strong clinical skills in the provision of nutritional assessment, nutrition counseling, and group facilitation;
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of an inter-professional team, and to work effectively with community partners;
- Experience working within a brief acute care model preferably with a hospital setting;
- Strong initiative and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to foster good public relations and effective working relationships;
- Committed to client-focused philosophy;
- Must have satisfactory performance record;

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and OPSEU Local 348.
