Overview:
**Responsibilities**:
**Program Development**:
- Design, plan, and implement a variety of recreational programs and activities catering to the physical, social, cognitive, and emotional well-being of senior residents.
- Collaborate with the Director of Care and other staff members to ensure that activities align with residents' interests and needs.
**Event Coordination**:
- Organize and coordinate special events, celebrations, and outings to provide residents with meaningful and enjoyable experiences.
- Liaise with external vendors and community partners to enhance the variety of activities offered.
**Resident Engagement**:
- Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere by actively encouraging resident participation in activities.
- Conduct regular assessments of residents' preferences and adapt programs accordingly.
**Therapeutic Programming**:
- Integrate therapeutic activities into the programming to support residents' physical and mental well-being.
- Work closely with healthcare professionals to tailor activities for residents with specific needs or conditions.
**Documentation and Reporting**:
- Maintain accurate records of activity participation and resident feedback.
- Prepare regular reports for management, highlighting the success of programs and areas for improvement.
**Resource Management**:
- Manage the budget allocated for activities, ensuring cost-effective programming.
- Maintain an inventory of supplies and equipment required for various activities.
**Communication**:
- Effectively communicate with residents, families, and staff to promote upcoming events and gather feedback.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate activities into the overall resident care plan.
**Continuous Improvement**:
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in senior care and activities coordination.
- Attend relevant workshops or conferences to enhance professional development.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation Diploma, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in planning and implementing activities for seniors.
- Understanding of the physical and cognitive limitations associated with aging.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Creative and resourceful with the ability to adapt activities to diverse resident needs.
- CPR and First Aid certification is a plus. (Ability to obtain post-hire.)
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
