Since its inception in 1986, Project Work, a non-profit community-based agency, has been a recognized leader in integrating people with intellectual disabilities into the competitive workforce. Project Work provides comprehensive pre-employment skills training delivered with extensive one-on-one job coaching, job development and retention supports through a variety of supportive employment programs. Working in tandem with employers, Project Work is committed to driving labour market inclusion and access for a neurodiverse workforce.

**Position Summary**

Reporting to the Manager of Employment Services, the Employment Consultant is responsible for guiding program participants through all stages of their employment journey, with the goal of sustainable and meaningful employment. Considering the needs and strengths of job seekers and the needs of employers, the incumbent will develop long term mutually beneficial relationships with employers to create work placement and employment opportunities for program participants to build jobs that are mutually beneficial, long-term, and sustainable.

**Job Duties**:
**Participant Service / Case Management**
- Provide comprehensive case management support.
- Assist participants to develop and attain their vocational goals in their Action Plans by identifying and assessing their needs, goals and barriers to their goals.
- Plan and deliver skills development workshops
- Meet assigned placement targets by developing and job carving appropriate work experiences
- Set up experiential or on the job training for individual participants with employers including job shadows, volunteer, and job trials where appropriate.
- Facilitate work opportunities and negotiate employment relationships for participants including placement agreements and contracts that include training objectives, commitments and financial incentives.

**Target Management / Documentation**
- Manage a caseload of participants ensuring that written documentation and statistics for each file is up-to-date, recorded in the Salesforce and CaMS databases, adheres to audit guidelines and is properly stored while maintaining participant tracking and filing systems.
- Meet or exceed program targets as stipulated by Project Work
- Conduct follow-up with all participants as stipulated by program and agency guidelines and standards. Communicating with all relevant agencies/professionals ensuring an appropriate level of support according to participant needs.
- Submit accurate and up-to-date statistics on all participants as required by the funders and agency.

**Job Development**
- Prospect new employers and develop mutually beneficial, reciprocal relationships to secure a wide range of placements and sustainable employment opportunities
- Determine employer needs, and propose solutions to address employer needs through job matching and placement of clients
- Follow up with employers and participants to resolve issues early and ensure client and employer satisfaction

**Organizational Responsibilities**:

- Actively participate in and prepare for regular team and individual supervision meetings with the Manager (s) including the establishment and evaluation of an annual goal plan.
- Participate in service planning for the agency in relation to community and individual needs.
- Adhere to all Project Work policies and procedures, including PW’s administrative requirements, and ensure that confidentiality is maintained.
- Ensure a team approach in all aspects of program development.
- Cooperate with AODA, and health and safety procedures and policies
- Such other duties and responsibilities as may be communicated to Employee

**Job Requirements**
- Post secondary education in Social Work, Adult Education, Employment/Career Counselling, Human Resources or two years recent experience providing intensive case management, or combined equivalent education and experience.
- Two years of demonstrated experience and strength in employment/career counselling, job coaching/mentoring, case management, and workshop facilitation
- Knowledge of employment and training resources and programs, community services and labour market information.
- Demonstrated ability to support and develop plans to deliver against defined program goals and targets including planning ahead for contingencies and identifying solutions to problems to ensure best results
- Strong facilitation skills
- Strong verbal and written communications skills in English with skill in being persuasive
- Experience with case management databases, including Salesforce and CaMS, an asset.
- Experience working with those identifying disabilities or other barriers to employment.
- Previous experience supporting participants with intellectual disabilities an asset
