**Project Field Lead**
**The Organization**:
A.E.W. LP was formed in 2017 by Nlaka’pamux Nation Tribal Council member communities to carry out
“on the ground” work related to archaeology, the environment and wildlife protection. This work has been made necessary by activities of others within the Nlaka’pamux homeland including transportation, mining, forestry, oil and gas, and utilities projects. The Nlaka’pamux Nation Tribal Council is not opposed to development within our homeland, but developments and activities must be consistent with Nlaka’pamux title and rights.
**The Role**:
A.E.W. Limited Partnership (A.E.W. LP) is seeking a permanent full-time Project Field Lead based out of beautiful Kamloops, BC.
We are in search of a highly motivated leader to work with the Environmental department as the Project
Field Lead to support and oversee wildlife related projects and programs that support the protection and advancement of Nlaka’pamux title and rights.
Reporting to the Director of Environment, the Project Field Lead will:
- Collect, analyse and report on the collection of biological data.
- Lead in the design and implementation of biological programs.
- Recommend and implement programs for population monitoring, habitat design and effectiveness monitoring, resource planning, and risk mitigation.
- Conduct assessments and author reports that characterize wildlife populations and habitat impacts resulting from environmental changes, human activities, and harvesting practices.
- Maintaining calendars and scheduling for up to 40 field staff members
- Provide technical direction for large-scale construction projects including daily interaction with clients
- Implementation of mammal, amphibian and reptile salvage plans.
- Annual reporting for BC Wildlife Act permits
- Provide consultation on wildlife protection to developers and engineers.
- Provide oversight on provincial and federal regulatory requirements.
- Complete wildlife surveys (i.e., bats, amphibians, ungulates, breeding birds, raptors).
- Commitment to the protection and advancement of Nlaka’pamux title and rights.
- Working in partnership with members of the Nlaka’pamux Nation Tribal Council to ensure consistency of approaches and methodologies.
- Other duties as assigned.
**Requirements**:
- B.Sc. in biology or related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Possess a current and valid Canadian Driver’s License.
- Excellent analytic and research skills (leveraging a sound knowledge of scientific literature).
- Comprehensive knowledge of environmental impact assessment and an understanding of how effects of project-related developments on terrestrial resource values should be investigated and reported.
- Experience with designing and implementing scientific studies/field programs and managing field teams and the collection of wildlife baseline data.
- Experience operating in a dynamic consulting environment that requires flexibility and teamwork; and an ability/interest to work in the field, occasionally in remote locations for extended periods of time.

- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proven ability to meet tight deadlines, manage conflicting priorities, and work well under pressure in a rapidly changing environment.
- Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and Adobe Acrobat.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Previous experience working with Indigenous communities.
- Strong team player, self-motivated and proactive thinker.
