Product Specialist Mill Liners

- We have an immediate opening for a Product Specialist - Mill Liners to join our HRM Department.
- The Product Specialist is responsible for supporting and growing the Mill Liner business within Canada. This includes supporting and working with local Weir KAMs while also being self sufficient and able to develop new business.
- The Product Specialist will report directly to the NAM Regional Product Manager - Mill Liners.
- The Role
- Typical tasks include:

- Responsible for identifying the customers’ needs and reviewing internal and external customer’s technical specifications to both determine the best solution that Weir can offer while meeting all requirements and identify those items that deviate from Weir’s offering.
- Responsible for working with regional engineering departments in ensuring the best possible liner system designs are considered for proposals and contracts while also meeting customer specifications.
- Develop and prepare a comprehensive proposal in time to meet the customers expectation.
- Analyzing measurements and preparing mill liner condition reports for timely delivery to the customer.
- Technical support to customers and internal sales personnel, as necessary, to help troubleshoot problems that customers may experience.
- Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records and documents.
- Comply with all Product Marketing Department and Company policies, procedures and programs.
- Promote and maintain a flexible, cooperative, team-oriented and customer-focused attitude within and between departments.
- Keep his/her supervisor, the Global Product Manager, Project Engineering Supervisor and the Sales Administration Manager aware of any pertinent issues or concerns.
- Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations, and departmental housekeeping standards, including obtaining and maintaining safety certifications and other mandatory industry requirements (e.g. MSHA certification). Maintain divisional/departmental standards.

- Skills Required
- A Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field or a comparable technical qualification with relevant practical experience. Prior experience working with a mill liner supplier or Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) firms involved in grinding mill design and/or supply is also preferred. Previous experience in mill liner inspection and performance optimization would also be an advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write technical reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
- Ability to work with algebra, geometry and trigonometry, percentages, and fractions is required. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret various types of graphs and charts.
- The ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, interpret technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables is required.
- The position requires strong analytical skills, computer literacy, mechanical aptitude and organization abilities; good oral and written communication skills; and strong human relations skills.
- The employee must have strong motivation, a good work ethic, the ability to work proactively, the ability to promote and maintain strong relationships, confidence in their own abilities and the capability to act decisively.
- The employee must be able to work effectively independently, and as a team member; project and maintain professionalism in all situations; accept responsibility and accountability; and work under pressure and in stressful situations.
- Work Environment
- Permanent, full time role.
- Position travels up to 75% of the time, the remainder of the time the role is work from home.
- Position can be relatively physically demanding when visiting client shops, sites and vendors.
- May be exposed to chemicals, smells, elements, noise, temperature etc. Required to wear appropriate PPE such as closed toed shoes, steel toed boots, masks, gloves safety glasses, safety vest etc.
