**Hours**: 11:00pm to 7:00am.

**Key Responsibilities**:Supporting the individualized care plans of residents, the PSW supports activities of daily living for residents, general housekeeping and charting on the health and wellbeing of all residents. The PSW is responsible to ensure the best quality of life for the resident, and exceptional customer service for them and their guests.

**As a positive and active contributor, your key duties will include**:

- Assists and attends to residents’ special needs as outlined in care plans provided
- Performs cleaning duties in common areas
- Processes commercial and personal laundry for home and residents
- Maintains work and storage areas in a clean, safe and sanitary manner
- Operates and cleans equipment and maintains all resident areas as per work routines
- Charts on changes, behaviours and general care of residents
- Performs other related duties as required

**Potential growth**:

- PSW's who demonstrate excellent critical thinking and assessment skills and are interested in training in the Medication Administration program may also cross train in the Unregulated Care Provider (UCP) role for the opportunity to grow within the organization
- Previous work experience in a PSW capacity is an asset
- Successful completion of secondary school or equivalent
- Post secondary education in a Personal Support Worker (PSW) program through an accredited college or institute
- First Aid/CRP Certificate
- Ability to read and communicate effectively
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Demonstrated empathy and understanding of the needs of seniors
- Effective interpersonal relationship and conflict resolution skills
- Must have a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness
- Must be able to operate related equipment

**Working Conditions include**
- Ability to exert equivalent of lifting, pushing, pulling up to 50lbs between 25%-50% of the shift
- Job requires regular exposure to challenging conditions and hazards/chemicals (laundry/cleaning products) (more than 50% of the time)
- Ability to organize tasks and work under strict time constraints with occasional exposure to challenging conditions more than 50% of the time
- Ability to maintain focus an occasional high level of concentration for 20% to 50% of ones shift
- Ability to multi task and switch tasks and endure interruptions with agility 20% to 50% of ones shift

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: From $19.27 per hour

Schedule:

- Night shift

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay

COVID-19 considerations:
All staff are required to follow all mandated protocols for the Retirement Home sector by the Ontario government. Staff are actively screened before the start of each shift including rapid antigen testing.

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Belleville, ON K8N 1L9: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Experience**:

- PSW/DSW: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- PSW, DSW Certification or completed 1st year of RPN program (required)

Shift availability:

- Overnight Shift (required)
