Joinery Craftsperson/benchman

An established commercial and residential millwork construction company is looking for an experienced **Joinery Craftsperson/Benchman. ** To qualify for this position you must have many years of experience in specialty wood joinery including the interpretation of shop drawings, preparation of tools and materials, custom machining, careful assembly and solid wood laminating. This position produces the custom components that go into many high end architectural residential and commercial millwork projects in the local BC market.

To be successful in this position you need to be an organized, dependable individual that can read detailed specifications, interpret intricate drawings and operate precision production equipment. To maintain established quality standards, you must have an eye for detail and proven math skills. On a daily basis you will be working with drawings and documentation requiring above average communication skills. You will need to be able to self manage the production process to produce project components in a timely fashion with consistent quality.

Ideally you have formal training in joinery (preferably through an apprenticeship or post-secondary program) and at least 3 to 5 years of experience using joinery skills in a millwork/custom woodwork operation. If you have more advanced skills using digital technology to assist in the design of jigs and the automated production of components using CNC that is a plus but not the main focus of this position. Knowledge of architectural woodworking standards and practices, ideally through formal training is also a plus.

This is a full-time permanent position with steady full time hours Monday to Friday.

**Salary**: $30.00-$45.00 per hour
