Interface and Integration Manager

AECOM GTA is currently seeking a Interface and Integration Manager with specialized skills in Railway Systems, to join our Systems Engineering and Systems Assurance Team in Ontario and work with a multidisciplinary team delivering an existing and future portfolio of projects.

**Essential Criteria**:
Proven Systems Interface and Systems Integration experience within the Railway Sector.

High competency working with mechanical, electrical, and software components in complex electromechanical systems.

Extensive understanding of the Systems Engineering lifecycle, including V&V, Systems Architecture, Requirements Management, Configuration Management, Interface Managements.

Able to work with minimum supervision and to manage a team of mid-level or junior engineers and/or third-party engineering contractors.

Able to demonstrate ability and experience in formulating and implementing System Engineering and Assurance plans and processes and ensuring that project teams operate in accordance with those plans and processes.

Able to work on more than one task/project at the same time.

Able to support in the preparation of bids and proposals.

Able to learn new skills and understand new standards with mínimal guidance.

**Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:
Define/review and manage interface and integration requirements on the project.

Review/develop the Interface Management Plan and the Integration Management Plan for the project.

Coordinate with and support the project management and systems engineering managers and teams on interface and integration matters.

Prepare/review system interface specifications, interface registers, RACI matrices, ICDs, etc.

Work on or provide specific input to requirement management tools such as IBM DOORS.

Review third party interface points and develop interface control documents and responsibility matrices.

Manage external interface and integration requirements and ensure compatibility at system level.

Provide input to the Hazard Log, Risk Register and compile a list of high risk interface and integration elements.

Support Project Engineering and Systems Engineering Manager in all technical decisions.

Perform impact analysis for proposed changes to interface agreements and support the Configuration Management and Change Control throughout the project lifecycle.

Provide input to the overall systems assurance and V&V activities.

Prepare weekly or monthly status reports to Project Management.

Attend and actively participate in Systems, Systems Integration, Vehicle Interface/Integration, Systems Installation, O&M, T&C technical topic meetings.

Conduct thorough analysis and evaluation of S&TCS detailed design submissions (including safety, security, threat and vulnerability assessment and analyses, hazard mitigations) against Project Agreement specifications;
Provide technical support to bids and proposals;
Represent the client by attending various in-house and field test efforts related to S&TCS and other Systems as well as all the associated internal and external interfaces;
Liaising with construction, facility, O&M teams and all relevant stakeholders during detailed design, procurement, SW/HW FAT testing, site installation, PICO, engineering field integration, system acceptance testing, systems trial run, pre-revenue service demo; final safety certification processes and phases;
Coordinate with systems implementation, vehicle delivery and commissioning teams;
Actively participate in test and commissioning coordination meetings;
Oversee test and commissioning record documents, test status, results, and field technical troubleshooting and resolutions.

Review and confirm that the V&V, test acceptance criteria are appropriate and complete: exercise the independent authority vested by the company to ensure test procedures are correct, with full coverage of customer requirements and tests plans;
Ensure all Systems T&C failure test reports, problems and action reports are processed correctly, completely and documented, and communicated to the client;

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.

6+ years experience in Railway or other relevant projects.

Preferred Qualifications

Masters Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.

At least 15 years of experience working on Metro or Tram Systems.
