**JOB INFO**

CANA Services is looking for an experienced Concrete Finisher who can expertly pour, level and smooth concrete on a variety of surfaces. The Concrete Finisher may also be required to set the forms that hold the concrete in place, patch existing surfaces, cut expansion joints and monitor the cutting of the concrete to ensure a high-quality finish.

As the Concrete Finisher you are expected to be engaged in our safety program, executing work in a safe manner, in adherence with CANA policies and all applicable code regulations and the Act.

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Understand pour depths in formwork, communicate with carpenters/foremen for clarification.
- Competent in:
- Placing, vibrating screeding, hand floating/finishing and power troweling slabs and
- Placing vertical concrete
- Patching or sack rubbing concrete surfaces
- Determining elevations for concrete slabs
- Placing and finishing sidewalks which includes edging, deep cuts and brooming
- Patching and leveling hardened concrete floors.
- Using a power trowel
- Set up and use of line and boom pumps including placing booms
- Management of winter heat and hoarding
- Able to set and read a laser level for use in placing concrete.
- Able to assist carpenters and have good understanding of conventional and panel formwork systems
- Placing Stairs, herringbone slabs and other specific structures to a high standard.
- Ability to chip and patch walls.
- Maintain a clean work area and move debris to designated bins.
- Understand appropriate material selection.
- Ability to work flexible hours, as per finishing requirements onsite.
- Participate in pre pour planning.

**REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILTIES**

To be successful in the role:

- Minimum 5 years' work experience as a concrete laborer or mason.
- Knowledge of hand-held and power tools including power vibrators, polishers, cutting saws, and edging tools.
