**Job Descriptions**:
We are looking for dance teachers for **recreational**dance classes for kids **ages 2-10** for ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, acrobatics and musical theatre. All applicants must be willing to provide a vulnerable sector police check and first aid training certificate.

Teaching assistants - start as an assistant and train for teaching positions. Must be well organized and willing to work hard and learn curriculum/teaching strategies.

Teachers - start as a teacher with previous teaching experience, experience working and lesson planning from provided curriculum. Exam experience or dance degree preferred.

**Dates and Availability**

Positions needed starting September through to the end of June with opportunity to continue year round. Weekdays and weekend availabilities. 2 locations in Markham.

**Responsibilities**:

- teach recreational/exam dance classes for children from ages 2-12
- be comfortable teaching a variety of dance styles including some or all of the following: Parent and Tot, Creative Movement, Ballet, Lyrical, Tap, Hip Hop, Jazz, Acro and Musical Theatre
- create lesson plans from provided curriculum and ensure your lesson plans compliment the studio curriculum
- select classes may be exam classes, teachers must be willing to learn and teach syllabus, training and opportunities for teacher certification may be provided
- teach age appropriate choreography for multiple performance events each year
- be a team player and willing to supply teach and co-teach if necessary
- All applicants must have previous dance training for minimum of 5 years.
- dance teacher qualifications BATD, RAD, ADAPT, CDTA or dance degrees and previous dance exam experience are preferred.
- office shifts may also be available if interested in additional hours

We are looking for teachers who have a passion for teaching young dancers in a recreational setting, so please send a resume or cover letter specific to that. Must be already located in and able to work in Canada. Must have own transportation as transportation is not provided.

**Job Type**: Contract
Contract length: 10 months

Pay: $17.20-$40.00 per hour
