Marina Worker

**The Royal Victoria Yacht Club** is seeking energetic individuals as Marina and Maintenance Workers at the Club’s main location in Cadboro Bay, Victoria, BC.

Reporting to the Foreshore Lead Hand, the worker is responsible for the effective and proper maintenance of all marina and shore facilities throughout the establishment. You will be expected to work Saturdays and Sundays (8am to 4.30pm) year round.

Duties include:

- Supplement late day cleaning as required
- Removing garbage and recycling material.
- Carrying out basic repairs and maintenance to Clubhouse furnishing fixtures, lights, life safety equipment and equipment.
- Providing and/or relocating material/equipment for special Club functions, moving carpets, arranging appropriate seating and other day porter duties.
- Checking docks and repairing loose deck boards, securing deck mesh, loose cleats and other safety hazards on the docks and fingers.
- Checking moorage of members boats for unsafe arrangements and correct any problems and advising the members.
- Clearing garbage, debris and recyclables from the dock areas.
- Recycling of used/old fuel and oil products.
- Assist trained staff with the Hauling out and launching of Club and member boats using marine ways or crane hoist and assisting members as necessary.
- Carries out maintenance work on RVYC boats and race equipment.
- Ensuring that all Club vessels are maintained to high standards, are seaworthy, and meet all regulations at all times.
- Making minor repairs to Club boats. Daily fuelling of boats
- Cleaning boats and securing covers after use by Race Committees as required.
- Supporting the Sailing Coordinator in the maintenance of Club owned sailboats, coach boats, instructional equipment, and boat trailers.
- Carrying out scheduled safety and maintenance inspection patrols on Club premises.
- Carrying out garden maintenance not covered by gardener contract.
- Assisting members with tool shed equipment and assisting with provision of safety equipment.
