**JOB OPPORTUNITY**
**Housing Project Manager**
Zagimē Anishinabēk is a progressive First Nations, located around 22 KM Northeast of the Town of Grenfell in Saskatchewan.
**SUMMARY**: Reporting to the Director of Lands and Infrastructure, the Housing Project Manager develops and executes the Zagimē Anishinabek’s housing projects and other band sponsored capital projects. The position will oversee housing units and governing programs, and work with the Director of Lands and Infrastructure to develop effective housing policies and programs.
**DUTIES**:
- Provides leadership and consultation on the planning, development and implementation of housing projects, including scope and capacity issues and recommendations, mandatory approvals, planning fund approvals and ensures that program mandates are met, and expenditures are within budget.
- Prepares periodic internal and external progress reports for management.
- Prepares and recommends strategies and priorities to address potential issues arising from housing project initiatives, and conducts business case reviews, research and evaluation of affordable housing project and program submissions.
- Develops complex project management and development plans and provides expertise, advice and support for housing
- Uses diplomacy and strong communication, presentation and relationship building skills to create and maintain a network of stakeholders including partners
- Reviews, monitors, and analyses long range housing projects, submissions and initiatives to provide options, recommendations and advice on appropriate direction and to proactively address potential issues.
- Leads and supervises the work of division’s staff, including matters pertaining to labour relations, staff development, corporate and division policies and procedures and standards.
- Ensures policies, structures and systems are in place to effectively support the function.
- Comprehensive understanding of Indigenous housing and awareness of social, economic, and political trends affecting the provision of housing.
- Demonstrated relationship management abilities and negotiation skills, including persuasive discussions and presentations to small and large groups of senior officials.
- Political and cultural sensitivity and specifically possess a solid knowledge of Indigenous culture and traditions.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and foster key partnership relations that will facilitate the achievement of improvement objectives.
- A valid driver’s license, as this position requires some travel, including site visits.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- Post-Secondary Diploma in a related field or a combination of experience and education may be considered.
- Experience in Construction Management, Property Management, or related field.
- Strong project management background in housing construction and facility maintenance.
- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations as they relate to housing management as well as home maintenance and repair knowledge are required.
- Extensive project management experience related to home construction and renovation projects.
- Punctual, dependable, and reliable.
- Class 5 Driver’s License.
- Submit to a criminal record check and pre-employment drug screen prior to employment.
