**_Job Summary: _**

As an General Labourer at Peter J’s General Contracting Ltd. you will join a small team of construction project personnel both in the local Edmonton office and on various construction sites across Western Canada. You will assist in the success of each and every project as well as the continued sustainable growth of the company.
- **Position Responsibilities**:_
- Enjoy working hands on, on site in a team environment to install retail sales fixtures & commercial display and décor components.
- Enjoy entry level carpentry tasks with a growth mindset in order to advance skills and knowledge while working hands on.
- Assist in planning for both site location and installation instructions of fixtures and decor components.
- Be involved in checking shipments received, condition of equipment and fixtures. Help report back, to ensure the missing items are recorded for future delivery, and that any/all damage is noted.
- Capable of assisting in offloading trucks to receive materials.
- Assist in and learn required assembly and installation of all required equipment, décor and fixtures, including some cabinetry.
- Communicate team members and project personnel to ensure the success of the project.
- Demonstrate cooperation and understanding in the importance of health, safety and environmental protection following the requirements of the company Health and Safety Policy as well as all requirements of OH&S.

**_Skills and Professional Values: _**
- Have the technical ability to use basic electronic tools (cell phone, tablet, etc.) to effectively communicate with the other team members.
- Have the ability and willingness to **work day or night shifts** as needed. Project duration varies from 1 day to a few weeks and includes some weekends.
- Have the ability and willingness to travel. We service clients across Western Canada. (Travel possibility of up to **50%** of work outside of the Greater Edmonton Area in any given year).
- Ability to make decisions based on team goals and implemented processes.
- Maintain effective time management and organisational skills.
- Invested in personal growth and opportunities within the company and in relation to knowledge and training associated with the construction industry.
- **Experience**:_
- Have a clean driver’s abstract and valid class 5 driver’s license.
- Have use of a personal vehicle for transport to site and out of town.
- Have a proven history of progressive growth and experience.
- Demonstrate a knowledge and interest in construction safety procedures and responsibilities.
- Demonstrate knowledge, experience and safe work practices around basic carpentry tools (hand drill, screw gun, mitre saw, table saw, circular saw, etc.)

**_Education: _**
- Equivalent and proven on the job training and education would be an asset and will be reviewed on an independent basis. No formal trades training required.

- Position - Full Time Hourly
- Location - Head office is in Edmonton, **applicant must have the ability to travel**.
