**Overview**
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Carpentry & Finishing Trades Instructor to teach and mentor students in a variety of residential and commercial construction skills. This includes rough and finish carpentry, painting, hardwood and tile flooring installation, and jobsite safety practices.
This position is ideal for a seasoned tradesperson who is passionate about sharing their knowledge and shaping the next generation of construction professionals.
**Responsibilities**
- Teach hands-on and classroom instruction in:
- Rough framing and structural carpentry
- Finish carpentry (doors, trim, cabinets, baseboards)
- Flooring installation (hardwood, laminate, tile)
- Demonstrate proper use of tools, materials, and safety procedures
- Deliver lessons aligned with Ontario curriculum and trade standards
- Evaluate student progress and provide mentorship and feedback
- Maintain a safe and organized training environment
- Support learners from diverse backgrounds and experience levels
**Qualifications**
- **Minimum 10 years of experience** in the construction industry
- Skilled in carpentry **and** at least two of the following: painting, flooring, or finishing work
- Certificate of Qualification in Carpentry (**Red Seal preferred**)
- Strong understanding of Ontario Building Code and health & safety regulations
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Experience training apprentices or teaching is an asset
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Adult teaching certification or experience in post-secondary/trades training
- First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certification
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $17.49-$40.23 per hour
