Dz Driver

Primary Purpose of Position:
Vic Priestly Contracting Ltd. (VPCL) is seeking a DZ Driver to join our dynamic team. As a DZ Driver specializing in roll off trucks, you'll be pivotal in ensuring the efficient and safe transport of heavy equipment and materials across various job sites.

Job Duties
- Under basic supervision, operates a Tractor Trailer or Roll off truck to designated project sites in the GTA and throughout the province.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and functionality.
- Transport various equipment to project sites and remove equipment accordingly.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and preventative maintenance; make minor adjustments and repairs.
- Follow all safety regulations and traffic laws to maintain a safe driving record.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to coordinate pick-ups and deliveries.
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation related to vehicle operation and deliveries.
- Record information associated with the specific tasks carried out in a drivers log
- Driving logs are required daily via smart phone or tablet.
- Position Requirements

**Requirements**:

- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Possess a valid DZ driver's license with a clean drivers abstract
- Class 1 air brakes with at least 5 years' experience in Roll off truck.
- End dump experience would be considered an asset
- Ability to work independently in a busy environment.
- Experience with routine maintenance operations.
- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Able to work well under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
- As per the Ministry of Transportation, commercial vehicle operators are required to record driving logs every day, according to the legislation.

Work Conditions
- 24/7 availability may be required.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Travel to off-site locations may be required.
- Safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots,
- Overtime as required.
