Financial Analyst, Finance, Temporary Full Time

Compensation Pay Range:
$32.34-$39.66

**Job Description**:
- The Financial Analyst, Financial Reporting contributes to CHEO’s success by acting as an integral part of the Finance Operations of the organization. We are looking for a self-starter, with attention to detail, a sound financial background and a knack for managing complex spreadsheets. If you are looking for a challenge and seeking to be part of something larger than yourself, this role could be for you. This role is a 12-month term contract and reports to the Manager, Financial Reporting.
- The Financial Analyst will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following tasks:
- Monthly reconciliation and analysis of General Ledger accounts-
- Monthly journal entries in the accounting system to ensure month-end financial results are accurate and valid-
- Monthly billing to external entities, with subsequent recording of payments received-
- Assists with treasury function including cash flow, bank reconciliations, investments, and all related accountingAssist in month-end close process and the preparation of internal financial statements/reports for CHEO-
- Assist with monthly and year-end financial analysis of key general ledger control accounts in preparation of the external audit for the Hospital, School Authority, and Research Institute-
- Identifies opportunities for departmental workflow improvements as well as for improvements within the organization’s financial and operational processes-
- Supports the directors/managers in regards to financial transactions, reporting and other information requirements-
- Collaborate with your colleagues to strengthen your expertise in your role and promote an engaging team environment-
- Work in a face-paced environment that requires agile, clear thinking for quick turnaround of accurate, high-quality deliverables-
- Other tasks/projects as requiredQUALIFICATIONS- Police Record Check (PRC) (Essential)-
- Proof of required vaccination status (including COVID vaccinations) (Essential)-
- Bachelor’s University Degree in Accounting, Business or Finance (Essential)-
- Demonstrated sound financial analytical and problem-solving skills (Essential)-
- Highly organized with strong communication skills, with a customer-focused approach (Essential)-
- 2-3 years of related experience (Essential)-
- Professional Accounting Designation (or in pursuit of) (preferred)-
- Knowledge of Ontario Healthcare Reporting Standards (OHRS) (preferred)-
- Knowledge of Workday enterprise resource planning system (preferred)-
- Bilingual - English/French (preferred)Key Characteristics- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail;-
