Swamper (Summer Term)

Matix Lumber Inc. is a family and locally owned and operated professional building supply centre that provides all of your building needs. We are a building supply and project centre providing project contractors and do-it yourself builders with the tools, materials, design, and construction services to support projects of any scale.

We provide contractors, avid builders DIYers, and community leaders with the tools, construction service, and design expertise to support residential and commercial projects - from start to finish.

**The Swamper will be responsible for**:

- Gathering of all delivery paperwork.
- Assisting in loading the truck based on the paperwork.
- Ensuring that every load is secured appropriately, according to a safety and legal requirements.
- Assisting the driver with navigation of specific routes if necessary.
- Unloading the truck once the destination has been reached.
- Loading and unloading, by hand when required, lumber, roof trusses, pallets, shingles, drywall, and other related building materials based on company procedures.
- Counting items on every load to ensure the counts match the attached paperwork.
- Assisting the warehouse/yard team with staging loads, in assigned areas.
- Tagging products with relevant (sales order #, PO #, customer reference, etc.) information.
- Assisting in the pick-up process.
- Assisting with operating a 1- or 3-ton truck for pickups and/or deliveries, when required.
- Assisting in the maintenance of the warehouse.
- Assisting with yard maintenance including but not limited to grass cutting, general cleaning, sorting & organizing the warehouse and yard.
- Abiding by company safety and regular policies.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Job Requirements**:

- Completed Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Full available through the summer.
- Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs, for an extended period.
- Must have a strong work ethic and can work independently as well as within a team environment.
- Must have the ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Must have a good attention to detail.
- Valid class 5 Manitoba Drivers License and experience as a driver is considered an asset.
- Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week (outside of standard hours as needed).
