**Friends of Ruby**
Friends of Ruby is dedicated to the journey and well-being of 2SLGBTQIA+ youth, aged 16-29 through mental health services, social services, and housing. Friends of Ruby offers Youth Mental Health services, a Youth Drop-In Centre, and a Transitional Home. The Centre provides access to barrier-free counselling and therapeutic groups, case management and a drop-in space with hot meals, community, and comprehensive programming. The Home provides transitional and emergency housing, as well as mental health and life-skills to support youth moving towards independent living.

**Position Summary**
**Responsibilities**
- Research and identify prospective new funders and grant opportunities
- Conduct funding research, assess opportunities, develop briefing notes, presentations, and proposals for government funding, private and corporate foundations
- Administer and manage the full cycle of grants aligned with Friends of Ruby’s strategic mission and direction, including but not limited to: research, proposal drafting and submission, manage planning and execution, regular stewardship and communication with funders, writing reports etc.
- Work cross-functionally with internal team members for all grant proposals and grant fulfillment across finance, evaluation, measurement, program staff, etc.
- Support the development leadership team with strategic coordination of grants with major donor and other transformational giving
- Identify and support the coordination of multi-partner and multi-agency potential grant funding opportunities, on local, regional, provincial and national level
- Develop funder stewardship materials, including comprehensive grant reporting presentations in print, PowerPoint, and other required formats
- Support internal fundraising reporting
- Support on additional strategic fund writing materials as necessary, including integrated campaign materials, case for support, etc.
- And other duties as directed, for the delivery of the department’s strategic priorities and key deadlines
**Requirements**:
- Minimum 2 years of grant research and writing experience
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to build long-term relationships with funders, using tact, discretion, and compassion
- Proven ability to work in cross-functional teams to support grant budget, content, strategies, and reporting requirements
- Proven ability to multi-task in a busy environment, to work well under the pressure of deadlines, and to prioritize tasks appropriately while meeting time sensitive demands
- Experience working for a social service/mental health/or housing non-profit
- Knowledge or lived experience with the diversity of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community
- Experience working with a diverse team and promoting a positive brand image
**Additional Requirements**
- Satisfactory clearance under the Vulnerable Sector Police Check Program
- Must be qualified to legally work in Canada
- Willing to work onsite at our Friends of Ruby office located in downtown Toronto
- Willing to work on a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of the organization, working evenings on occasions
- Ability to travel to other community-based settings as needed
