**MOTEL SUPERVISOR JOB DESCRIPTION** **ABOUT** The June Motel is a boutique motel brand with three locations in Prince Edward County, Sauble Beach, and Beaver Valley that was featured on the Netflix TV series Motel Makeover. As we grow, we’re looking for like-minded people to join our team and support us in our mission to create beautiful places to stay where you can live the good life. **REPORTING TO** In this role, you’ll report directly to the General Manager of The June Motel in Picton. **SUMMARY OF POSITION** The Motel Supervisor oversees both the guest experience from arrival to departure and the meticulous upkeep of all guest rooms and common areas under the direction of the General Manager. You'll lead by example, ensuring exceptional service, maintaining high cleanliness standards, and fostering a positive and inclusive team environment. **DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** **Staff Guidance & Training** - Supervise the daily operations of both the Rooms and Front of House departments to ensure service standards are consistently met. - Actively participate in morning briefings and department meetings to keep team members informed about daily priorities and assignments. - Work with the General Manager to foster a culture of feedback and inclusivity. - Execute individualized training and development plans, progress reports, and provide on-the-job coaching to team members. - Provide support for all staff and contribute to creating a positive culture centered around growth and teamwork. **Guest Experience & Front of House Operations** - Oversee daily Front of House operations, ensuring a seamless guest experience from arrival to departure. - Lead by example in the Lobby Bar's food and beverage service, including taking orders, preparing light snacks, and serving drinks. - Respond to a wide variety of guest requests, concerns, and feedback with the highest level of professionalism and a "motelier host" mindset. - Accommodate special requests whenever possible and assist guests with all inquiries, including services, hours of operation, troubleshooting, in-house events, and directions. - Ensure rooms are stocked with any on-arrival guest requests, such as VIP gifts or group room drops. - Liaise with Central Services and support with reservations duties as required. **Rooms & Housekeeping Operations** - Oversee daily Rooms Department operations, including mobilizing the team and inspecting guest rooms. - Arrange daily room, laundry, and common area cleaning assignments. - Ensure consistent cleanliness of common spaces using proper cleaning and sanitation protocols, and uphold brand and design standards. - When required, especially in the absence of adequate staffing levels, clean rooms, manage laundry, and fix minor maintenance issues alongside your teammates. **Administrative & General Responsibilities** - Work with the General Manager to manage inventory and the shipping/receiving of products for the Motel, Lobby Bar, and Retail area. - Place orders for motel supplies, food & beverage, and retail in the absence of the General Manager. - Report and document necessary maintenance issues, ensuring seamless communication with the maintenance team. - Conduct inspections across the department for safety, cleanliness, and maintenance standards. - Facilitate proper communication between all departments including maintenance requests. - Ensure that The June Motel’s policies and procedures are followed. - Master our essential software platforms (Property Management System, Point of Sale System, Google Workspace), serving as an on-site expert for staff troubleshooting and training. - Act as an ambassador for The June Motel, fostering relationships for best business outcomes and community relations. - Carry out any other tasks as assigned. **Health, Safety & Sustainability** - Maintain a clean and safe working environment and actively participate in health and safety initiatives, including monthly health & safety inspections. - Champion health and safety programs and initiatives as a team leader. - Actively participate in establishing and upholding all motel sustainability policies and initiatives. **QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS** - A minimum of three years experience in a hospitality environment. - Previous experience supervising others is an asset. - Written and verbal fluency in English. Working knowledge of the French language is an asset. - Working knowledge of PMS and POS systems is an asset. - Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on the operational needs of the business. - A physical working environment with walking, stair climbing, bending, reaching, and lifting (approx. 30 lbs) required. - Ability to multitask and work well under pressure. - A high degree of attention to detail and professionalism. **DETAILS & COMPENSATION** - Start date: Summer-Fall 2025 - Rate: $25 per hour (plus tips) based on experience - Status: Seasonal - Hours: Approximately 35 hours per we
